We have some news today that's a year-and-a-half in the making: brand new leather travel cases are in stock and ready to ship.

It may look like a simple leather case, but it's been in the works since July of 2016. That's when I first emailed Dave Munson, the owner of my favorite leather company, Saddleback Leather. They're based in Fort Worth and make the most durable and handsome leather products on the planet.

I've carried one of his famous leather briefcases for nine years, and it looks even better today than the day I bought it. From the beginning I've known that he was the right guy to partner with on our leather products. All I had to do was convince him.

So for six months, I emailed Dave. I'd hear back every now and then, but didn't make much progress. Something finally broke through earlier this year, and he put me in touch with his world-class factory down in León, Mexico (i.e. the leather capital of the world).

It took another six months to get every detail right. Everything from the color of the industrial strength polyester thread to the finish on the full-grain leather was scrutinized. The YKK zippers were custom ordered to match my specs. Even the edge paint was custom. 

The result is the most premium leather travel case we could imagine. It's constructed with 100% premium full-grain leather - and lined on the inside with the same leather. It's custom sized to fit the Single Edge, and you can even slip a pack of blades in there too if you're feeling like it.
