What type of blades are these?
Three-hole injector blades, made for us in Seki City, Japan. Sealed eight to a refill. A refill lasts most shavers about three months or roughly ten cents per shave.

Are they proprietary?
The MAX accepts any standard injector blade if you load it by hand, but only Supply's three-hole blades lock onto all three posts on the pivoting head. Two-hole blades fit, but they shift during the shave. The SwitchBlade cartridge auto-loads Supply refills only.

How long do they last?
Most men get eight to ten shaves per blade. A refill of eight lasts about three months at five to six shaves per week. Change the blade when the pull starts to feel different.

How are these blades different from DE blades?
Twice as thick. Less flex, cleaner cut, longer edge life. Injector blades were originally developed by Schick in the early 1900s as a safer alternative to the Gillette double edge.

How do I dispose of used razor blades?
The back of the refill has a slot for used blades. Insert each one as you change it. When all eight are spent, the refill goes in the recycling. The SwitchBlade cartridge stays.

Open the pivoting head of the MAX with your thumb.
Press the open head down onto the cartridge. Magnets lift a fresh blade onto three posts.
Snap the head closed. Two seconds. No exposed edge.

How the SwitchBlade Works

The MAX isn't built to take loose blades. Every refill is a sealed pack of eight three-hole blades inside, disposal slot built into the back. The refill slots into the SwitchBlade cartridge that came with your razor.

To load: open the pivoting head, set the SwitchBlade cartridge down, press the open head onto it. Magnets inside the razor lift a fresh blade and lock it onto three posts. Close the head. The blade is seated. You never touched the edge.

To dispose: slide each used blade into the slot at the back of the refill. The refill stores its own waste as you work through the eight. When all eight are used, swap the empty refill for a new one. Recycle the empty refill. Keep the SwitchBlade cartridge.

First reload takes a moment. By the third, it's two seconds.

Twice as Thick

Standard razor blades are 0.13mm. The Single Edge blade is 0.25mm, almost double. Cleaner cut. Most men get eight to ten shaves out of a single blade.

One Refill, Three Months of Shaving

Eight blades. Shave five to six times a week and you'll get through a refill in about ninety days. The back of the refill has a slot for used blades. Drop them in as you go. Recycle the empty refill when it's done. The SwitchBlade cartridge stays on the counter.
