Getting Started with Your Single Edge Max

Load Your Blade

To load a fresh blade into your Single Edge Max, pop the head of the razor open with your thumb. Align the razor with the cartridge, press down, and the magnets in the razor will take the new blade with it, holding it in place. Snap the head of the razor closed with your thumb, and you’re ready to shave.

Lather Up

Choose your favorite shaving cream and work it into a lather. You want to completely coat your face so the Max can glide effortlessly across the skin.

Light Pressure

Actually, no pressure! Let the Max do the work for you. Imagine the blade is sweeping through your facial hair. The weight of the razor is enough to get super close without pressing down.

Luxuriate

Feel that irritation? Neither do we. Step back and admire the closest shave you’ve ever had. The Max is proven to lessen nicks, cuts, and ingrown hairs thanks to single-edge technology and a pivoting head, which hugs the curves of your face.

Our Recommended Blade Care

Once you’re done shaving with the Max, rinse your blade and shake out any excess water. Store your Max vertically in its wall mount. Never leave your razor in a drawer or on a wet towel, as this may lead to corrosion and dulling. For a deeper clean, take your razor apart and clean it gently with mild dish soap and water. Once your blade starts to dull, replace with a new one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shave Performance

The Max builds on everything customers love about the SE and Pro razors — with a new pivoting head that adjusts to your face as you shave. It helps maintain the perfect angle and glide for a smoother, more comfortable experience. Think of it as a subtle evolution that makes shaving even easier.

Absolutely. Even if you're new to single-blade shaving, the Max is designed to feel intuitive. The pivoting head helps guide the razor naturally, so you don’t have to think too hard about the angle.

Make sure your hair is short enough for the Max to glide through, but not too long that it gets stuck. Also, checking that your blade is at the appropriate angle will help with hair tugging.

1. Apply less pressure when you shave.

2. Shave with the grain, not against it.

3. Use a multi-pass shaving technique with small, short strokes in the direction of the hair growth.

4. Find a 5- to 10-degree angle for the blade against your skin.

If your blade is old, consider changing it.

Simply rinse the razor under warm water. If there is extra buildup, pop the head of the razor open and rinse. For a deeper clean, you can take the Max apart and clean its components with mild dish soap and water.

Yes, this may happen. Due to the Max's pivoting head feature, there is less space beneath the razor where the shaving cream would normally drain.

No, the Max is not TSA compliant for carry-on luggage due to its loose blade. It can only be packed in checked luggage.

The Max has been designed for shaving the face and neck.

Blade Care

Most customers get 8 to 10 shaves per blade, depending on hair type and how often you shave. If you shave 5–6 times per week, a pack of 8 blades can last you up to 2–3 months.

The Single Edge Max Razor is only compatible with Supply blades. This is because of the three cutout holes in the Supply blades which are custom. And there are matching three prongs on the blade platform of the Max Razor.

Yes, the blades themselves are the same, but the injector you use with the SE or Pro won’t work with the Max's cartridge system. If you already have Supply blades in an injector, you can eject them manually and load them into the Max cartridge by hand. It's easy and takes just a few seconds.

To fix this, simply place one blade into the razor head by hand and leave the other on the blade cartridge platform. That way, the next time you swap blades, you'll be all set!
