How to Use
  1. Wash your face and apply a dense shaving cream or lather.
  2. Rest the head flat against your skin. Tilt your hand down until the blade engages with the hair. The fixed head keeps the angle for you. Shave in the direction of hair growth.
  3. Use short, light strokes. Don’t apply pressure. The weight of the handle does the work.
  4. Rinse the head often. Re-lather for a second pass across the grain on tolerant skin.

Most men find their pressure and stroke within five to ten shaves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does SE stand for?
Originally Sensitive Edition. The name stuck. The SE is the more forgiving of Supply's two razors: fixed head, NickStop micro-fins, blade slightly off the skin. More forgiving than the MAX, less forgiving than a cartridge. Razor burn comes from pressure and overdue blades.

Is a single edge razor better than a cartridge razor?
A single edge cuts cleanly at the skin's surface. Cartridges stack blades that multiply friction and drag. Most men who switch report less irritation, razor burn, and bumps, especially on the neck. The tradeoff is technique. For men willing to learn, the result is better skin and a closer shave over time.

What blades does the Supply Single Edge SE use?
Standard injector-style blades, in production for over 100 years and available from multiple brands. Supply's blades are twice as thick as standard razor blades for less flex, less drag, and a cleaner cut. Buy them from Supply or from other retailers.

How long do Supply razor blades last?
Eight to ten shaves per blade. A pack of eight lasts about three months at 5–6 shaves a week. Replace at the first sign of tugging. A sharp blade is safer than a dull one.

Is the Supply Single Edge SE good for beginners?
Yes. More forgiving than the MAX, less forgiving than a cartridge. The fixed head and NickStop micro-fins hold the blade at a consistent angle, which reduces the guesswork. Most men find their pressure and stroke within five to ten shaves. The first week is slower; the skin gets better once the technique clicks.

What is the difference between the Supply SE and the Supply MAX?
The SE has a fixed head with NickStop fins that hold the blade at a consistent angle. Supply's most forgiving razor, built for men new to single-blade shaving. The MAX has a pivoting head and exposes more of the blade at skin level for a closer shave, but requires more control. Start with the SE if you're new. The MAX is for shavers who already have the technique and are looking for the closest shave.

How much do Supply razor blades cost?
A fraction of cartridge refills. A year of Supply blades costs less than a single pack of name-brand cartridge replacements. Each blade lasts 8–10 shaves; a pack of eight covers most men for three months.

Will the Supply razor help with razor bumps and ingrown hairs?
Single-blade shaving is one of the most effective ways to reduce both. Cartridges with stacked blades cut hair below the skin surface, which causes hair to curl back and grow inward. The SE cuts at the surface with one blade. Shaving with the grain on the first pass and mapping the neck hair direction make the biggest difference. Most men see improvement within the first few weeks.

Fewer blades. Calmer skin.

Most shaving irritation comes from friction and pressure. Multi-blade cartridges stack cutting edges and drag them across the skin. That increases contact, increases pressure, and often cuts hair below the surface. The result is the irritation, redness, and ingrown hair pattern most cartridge users live with.

The Single Edge SE works differently. One blade cuts cleanly at skin level. Fewer passes. Less friction. A smoother, more controlled shave off one blade.

Single-blade shaving does require adjustment. Pressure matters. Stroke matters. Speed does not help. The SE is designed to make the learning curve more forgiving without removing responsibility from the user. Learn it on the SE - the same one-blade method barbers have used for a hundred years.

NickStop Safety Bar

Sixteen micro-fins along the bar regulate how much skin meets the edge. The fins make the learning curve more forgiving. Technique is still required.

The math, over ten years.

Brand-name cartridges run $3–$5 each. That's $100–$200+ a year, every year.

The Single Edge is $59 once. Blades cost about $1 and last 8 to 10 shaves - about $32 a year.
The razor carries a lifetime warranty; the blades are the only thing you'll ever replace.

The Razor That Started It All

The Single Edge SE was the original Supply razor. The rest of the line is built on it. Featured on Shark Tank. Named the best razor for sensitive skin in GQ's 2026 razor guide. The most forgiving razor Supply makes.
