Single Edge SE Razor + Trimmer Set

34 reviews

The shave and the shape. The razor. The trimmer.

The Single Edge SE handles the shave, cutting at the surface of the skin with one blade for less contact and less irritation than a multiblade cartridge. The waterproof Supply Trimmer handles the rest: beard shaping, length control, and clean edges, with 12 settings on a single dial. Two tools, one routine, the whole face covered.

What's Included

The Single Edge SE. Solid steel handle, zinc alloy head. Fixed head with NickStop Safety Bar. Available in Classic Matte and Matte Black.

The Supply Trimmer. Precision trimmer for beard shaping, length control, and clean edges. 12 settings on a single dial. Dual-edge MicroBlade. Waterproof, wet or dry. 90 minutes per charge, about three months per blade.

Black Label Blade Pack. Eight injector-style blades. Twice as thick as modern razor blades. Made in Seki City, Japan. About ninety days of shaves at eight to ten per blade.

Ultra Lather Shaving Cream. Plant-based, dense lather. A fingertip is enough. One jar lasts about three months.

Silvertip Synthetic Brush. Synthetic fibers shaped to lift hair and hold lather. Holds heat like badger. Dries faster and doesn't shed.

Healing Post-Shave Spray. Alcohol-free, plant-based. Calms the skin instead of stripping it.

How to Use

The shave:

  1. Splash your face with warm water. Skip canned foam.
  2. Wet the brush, swirl into the Ultra Lather, and build the lather on your face in slow circles for about thirty seconds.
  3. Hold the razor at a shallow angle, about thirty degrees from the skin. Shave with the grain on the first pass. Use short, light strokes. Do not press.
  4. Rinse the head under warm water every few strokes. Relather between passes.
  5. Rinse with cool water, pat dry, and apply two pumps of Healing Post-Shave Spray.

The shape:
Use the Trimmer to set your beard line, control length, and clean up edges. Dry or wet. Pick a guard length on the dial, work against the grain for an even cut, and finish the cheek and neck lines freehand. Rinse the blade under water when you're done.

FAQs

What does SE stand for?
Originally Sensitive Edition. The name stuck. The SE is the more forgiving of Supply's two razors: fixed head, NickStop micro-fins, blade slightly off the skin. More forgiving than the MAX, less forgiving than a cartridge. Razor burn comes from pressure and overdue blades, not from the razor itself.

Is a single edge razor better than a cartridge razor?
A single edge cuts cleanly at the skin's surface. Cartridges stack blades that multiply friction and drag. Most men who switch report less irritation, razor burn, and bumps, especially on the neck. The tradeoff is technique. For men willing to learn, the result is better skin and a closer shave over time.

What blades does the Supply Single Edge SE use?
Standard injector-style blades, in production for over 100 years and available from multiple brands. Supply's blades are twice as thick as modern razor blades for less flex, less drag, and a cleaner cut. Buy them from Supply or from other retailers.

How long do Supply razor blades last?
Eight to ten shaves per blade. A pack of eight lasts about three months at 5–6 shaves a week. Replace at the first sign of tugging, not on a schedule. A sharp blade is safer than a dull one.

Do I need the brush and the cream, or can I use what I already have?
The brush and cream are in the kit because they change the shave more than people expect. A brush-built lather softens the hair before the blade reaches it. Canned foam sits on the surface and doesn't. Without that softening, the blade has to work harder, which means more passes and more irritation. You can shave with a Supply razor and a different lather. You'll get the most from the kit using all five pieces together.

What is the difference between the Supply SE and the Supply MAX?
The SE has a fixed head with NickStop fins that hold the blade at a consistent angle. Supply's most forgiving razor, built for men new to single-blade shaving. The MAX has a pivoting head and exposes more of the blade at skin level for a closer shave, but requires more control. Start with the SE if you're new. The MAX is for shavers who already have the technique and are looking for the closest shave.

Is this a good gift?
Yes. Built for men trying single-blade shaving for the first time, which is most people. Ships with a card explaining the technique. Lifetime warranty on the razor. 30-day return on the kit. If the technique isn't for him, send it back.

Will the Supply razor help with razor bumps and ingrown hairs?
Single-blade shaving is one of the most effective ways to reduce both. Cartridges with stacked blades cut hair below the skin surface, which causes hair to curl back and grow inward. The SE cuts at the surface with one blade. Shaving with the grain on the first pass and mapping the neck hair direction make the biggest difference. Most men see improvement within the first few weeks.

What does the Trimmer do that the razor doesn't?
The razor shaves down to the skin. The Trimmer shapes and edges: beard line, sideburns, neck, and length control with 12 settings on a dial. The razor is for the shave, the Trimmer is for everything you want to keep and define. Most men use both in the same routine.

Can I shave my whole face with the Trimmer?
No. The Trimmer is built to shape and edge, not to take you down to skin. For a full-face shave, the Single Edge SE is the tool. Use the Trimmer to set lines and manage length around it.

What to Expect

Five to ten shaves to adjust. A shave that gets better the longer you stay with it.

  • A learning curve over the first five to ten shaves
  • Lighter pressure than a cartridge. The weight of the handle does the work.
  • Calmer skin once the technique clicks.

30-day money-back guarantee. Longer than the learning curve.
Lifetime warranty on the razor.

From the wet shaving authority.

"Forgiving... and very effective. Quite suitable for a good, drama-free shave, whether you're a consumer-oriented type of shaver or an 'enthusiast' type of shaver."

The Single Edge SE - Shaving

Read the one-star reviews first.

4.7 stars across 4,000+ reviews. The one-stars are men who rushed it; the five-stars, men who slowed down and learned the ritual.

Some people give up after the first few shaves. Others slow down and never go back.

Most men find their pressure and stroke within five to ten shaves. The first week is slower than a cartridge. The skin gets better once the technique clicks.

If you already buy fewer, better things and take the time to maintain them, this razor was built for you.

The Single Edge SE

Fixed head. Four ounces of solid steel. One blade.

Nothing on this razor moves or flexes. The head is fixed and the blade angle is set, so the only variable left is you - which is the point. Sixteen NickStop fins along the safety bar flatten the skin and lift the hair, giving the blade a steady plane to cut against. They help the technique. Technique is still required.

Hold it flat on your skin, tilt until the blade engages, light pressure, with the grain on the first pass. The same technique works on face, head, and legs.

Built to Shape, Not to Shave

The narrow MicroBlade head is built for the work cartridge razors can't do well: clean edges along a beard line, defined sideburns, neat mustache work, the corners where a wide razor head gets clumsy. It's ideal for shaping sideburns, tidying around a mustache, and getting a crisp edge on a beard or goatee. For maintaining a beard at a set length, it does that. For shaving your face smooth, use a razor like our Single Edge SE.

Ultra Lather Shaving Cream

Dense lather, no foam. A fingertip is enough. Wet the brush, swirl into the jar, and build the lather on your face for about thirty seconds. The density is what lets a single blade cut cleanly without pulling.

Plant-based. Kaolin clay softens the stubble. Shea and jojoba calm the skin. One jar lasts about three months.

Named Best Shaving Cream of 2025 by Men's Journal.

Silvertip Synthetic Shaving Brush

Wet the brush. Take a fingertip of cream from the jar. Work it into the bristles or in a bowl until the lather holds its shape on the tip.

Two minutes of brush time is what builds a lather dense enough to pad the blade.

Synthetic fibers, shaped to lift hair and hold lather. The fibers retain heat like badger, without the shedding.

Healing Post Shave

Single-blade shaving leaves the skin clean but raw. This goes on after the last pass. Alcohol-free and plant-based with witch hazel, glycerin, and aloe to replace the moisture the shave removes. Most aftershaves are mostly alcohol, which dries the skin and triggers more oil.

Two pumps after every shave. Two ounces lasts about three months.
