How strong is the hold? Light. It holds a shaped beard flat and controlled. It will not hold a styled mustache or a sculpted design.
Will it build up? No wax in the formula, so it washes out with a normal beard wash.
Balm or conditioner? The conditioner rinses out in the shower and softens. The balm stays in on a dry beard and holds. Most men use both.

A finger scoop, warmed between the fingers. Onto a dry beard, roots first, then out to the tips. Add more if the beard is long. Finish with a brush or a comb.

Pro tip: Serum first, five minutes to absorb, then balm once the beard is dry.
